The Public Schools of the City of Ann Arbor has called a special election for Nov. 5, 2019. City polling places will be open 7 a.m.–8 p.m. on Election Day. Registered voters in line by 8 p.m. will be eligible to vote. More information can be found on the elections website, www.a2gov.org/elections, and questions about elections in Ann Arbor may be directed to the city clerk’s office at 734.794.6140, email@example.com or in person on the second floor of Larcom City Hall. To locate your ward and/or polling place online, go to the Michigan Voter Information web page at www.michigan.gov/vote.
New Election Day line tracker
Voters can check the number of people waiting in line at their city polling places and view estimated wait times before they head to the polls. New with this special election, the Ann Arbor City Clerk's Office will be piloting a new project to share line counts and projected wait times as reported in real time by the election inspectors at each polling place. Find the line tracker at www.a2gov.org/departments/city-clerk/Elections/Pages/Line-Tracker.aspx. The Election Day line tracker also includes images of each polling place as well as links to maps and directions.
Anyone who is eligible but not already registered to vote can still register in person with proof of residency at the Ann Arbor City Clerk's Office until 8 p.m. on Election Day. The city clerk's office will also be open extended hours for in-person voter registration and absentee ballot requests on Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Those registering to vote within 14 days of an election will be required to provide proof of residency. The city clerk’s office is located on the second floor of Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron St. On-street or lot parking is located off of Ann Street, east of Fifth Avenue.
Absentee ballots are now available to all voters, with no reason required. All absentee ballots must be returned to the city clerk’s office or the locked ballot boxes in the Larcom City Hall lobby by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Requests for absentee ballots will be accepted in-person at the city clerk’s office until 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 or by mail until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Voters requesting ballots on Nov. 4 must vote and return the ballot that same day.
New with this election, absentee voters will have a way to proudly display their participation in the Nov. 5 election. “I voted, #A2Votes” digital badges can be found on the city website on Election Day to upload to the voters’ social media account(s). Digital badges are available not only in English, but also several of the other languages spoken in the Ann Arbor community. Go to www.a2gov.org/elections and select on the “A2 votes” tab. Be sure to use #A2Votes when posting!
Voters looking for the perfect backdrop to help showcase their civic pride can look no further than their polling place. Whether returning an absentee ballot at Larcom City Hall on Election Day, or voting at a precinct, voters can pause for an “I voted” selfie. Special “I voted, #A2Votes” posters will be featured at polling places; and there will even be an “I voted, #A2Votes” banner in the first floor lobby of Larcom City Hall.

Don’t forget to bring your photo ID to vote. Voters who do not have acceptable photo ID will be required to sign an affidavit in order to vote.
All Ann Arbor polling places are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Polling place notes: 4-1 & 4-3 (U-M Coliseum Polling Place, 721 S. Fifth) — The intersection of Fifth Avenue and Hill Street and Hill Street to the west will be undergoing resurfacing work. Both driveways to the U-M Coliseum will be OPEN (one off Fifth and one off Hill). Voters will be able to access the parking lot and building.
New permanent polling place location: As a reminder, due to the addition of new precincts in the city, voters assigned to Precinct 1–9 have been permanently relocated to a new polling place at Logan Elementary School, 2685 Traver Road, along with new Precinct 1–11.
