I write a City Council newsletter with my summary of agenda items coming before City Council. Sign up to receive it first via email, or read it here later on this blog.
I post charts of how Council voted after each meeting, and also post my perspectives on how issues were resolved. I post news that affects Ward 4 residents tagged with "Ward 4 News", with construction updates also tagged "Construction 2021". News that affects all city residents is tagged with "City News".

Granger Pavement Marking Construction Nov 18 - 19

The following notice dated Nov 17, 2020 will be circulated by the City to property owners/residents in the affected area regarding pavement marking work planned for Granger Avenue from Wednesday Nov 18th through Thursday Nov 19th.

Weather permitting; the City’s contractor, Cadillac Asphalt, and its subcontractor, P.K.

Contracting, plan to perform work on Granger Avenue between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., as shown below.

  • Pavement Markings: Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19.

The contractor’s goal is to perform its construction operations with the least amount of

inconvenience to residents.

On these days we are requesting residents please refrain from parking on the street in order to complete the marking of the parking spaces. To assist with this endeavor, the contractor will be placing cones to block off the parking areas. Please do not move them. Should cars be parked on the street before the work begins, we will be knocking on doors if efforts to have them moved.

Based on experience, the success of this work depends upon your assistance. Please kindly observe the following:

  1. Keep the street free of all trash and recycle receptacles and/or bags, and compost carts.

  2. If you have a special circumstance that may interfere with this work, please advise the contractor’s site supervisor, Jay Wartella (269-209-4588), either of the City’s project inspectors, Gary Shivley (734-765-8154) or Carl Emmons (517-605-9342), or the City’s project manager, David Dykman (734-794-6410 ext. 43685). We will do our best to accommodate you.

  3. Weather and related scheduling conflicts may delay this work. Please visit the following website to obtain schedule updates: https://www.a2gov.org/departments/engineering/Pages/Construction-Projects.aspx

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this improvement project.
